Elliot Moore, Longmont Symphony’s music director, will be speaking about Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and his Symphony No. 4 at the Out! Community Cafe on Wednesday, February 21, at 12 PM.   The luncheon will be held at Out Boulder County, 630 Main Street, Longmont.

In Tchaikovsky’s epic Fourth Symphony, the composer expresses his triumph over fate. Written and premiered in Russia in 1878, this symphony represents a quasi-autobiographical account of the composer’s struggle to repress his homosexuality. Russia, gay rights, & marriage equality — Tchaikovsky’s music has never been so timely as it is now! Join us for a musical presentation and discussion.

The event is free.  Please bring your own lunch or snack.
