Quilt Auction to Support the LSO
Cheryl Dohrmann, a quilt artist who is a Longmont Symphony season ticket holder, has created this beautiful quilt, entitled “A Symphony of Colors,” and has donated it to the LSO to use as a fundraiser.
The quilt, 64″ by 75″, is pieced by hand and is hand-quilted. It is 100% cotton and can be used as a throw/lap quilt, or it has a rod pocket so it could be used as a wall hanging.
The LSO Guild will be offering the quilt for sale through a silent auction as a fundraiser. The beginning bid must be at least $300; subsequent bids must be in increments of at least $25. The quilt will be displayed at the February 23, April 6, April 13 & 14 (Longmont Museum), and May 11 LSO concerts. Bidding will take place in the Commons area of Vance Brand Civic Auditorium before the concerts and at intermission. Bids may be placed at the concerts, or by contacting Karen Ward by email at firstname.lastname@example.org with a bid, which will be added to the bid sheet.
Bidding will close at 7:15 PM at the May 11 Pops Concert, and the winning bid will be announced at that concert. The winning bidder does not need to be present, and arrangements will be made to deliver the quilt either at the end of the concert or soon after the May 11 auction close date.
An anonymous patron has offered to match the winning bid, up to $1,000, which will be donated directly to the LSO.
